The Thermodesulfobacteria are a small group
of heat-loving, sulfate-consuming bacteria.
They are rod-shaped and gram-negative. They thrive in hot temperatures
up to158°F.
The Thermodesulfobacteria live in hydrothermal vents in the ocean, oil
spills, and geothermal pools. Some can move, usually by a single flagellum.
They can form spores.
