Thermosphaera

Thermosphaera cells are spherical (cocci) and form grape-like aggregates during the growth phase.

Aggregate cells appear to have several flagella; single cells could have as many as eight.

Thermosphaera obtain energy from yeast. They are intolerant of sulfur and hydrogen. They can live in temperatures up to 200 ºF.
